to them who are the called according to his purpose. . Romans 8:28

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 / KJV

Gotta Have Santa-Tude!

My kids have an AWESOME hip hop teacher!
Her name is Rachel and she so rocks. lol.
No, really, she is the sweetest and most fun person you would ever meet.
The kids adore her and always look forward to getting to attend her classes.
Now, she isn't easy, mind you. She works them HARD but I think that is another
reason they like it. She is strict and pushes them, but makes it fun too.

If you watched shows like the HERO, you might remember her...

Wouldn't you just kill to look like that?
Maybe I need to start taking her classes! ;)
... I really don't think I could handle it! You would have to carry
me out on a stretcher. I am so sadly and terribly out of shape!

I made a small set of cards for her for Christmas...
This is one of them:

Obviously the girl elf was drawn / designed to resemble Rachel.
An elf this cool has to be paired with a hip hoppin santa! right?

It comes with the sentiment and is $3.50 for the set...
but YOU can get this digi for $1 today only!

(I was late posting so this deal will end tomorrow at 11 AM EST)

We will have more deals over the next 5 days.
If you purchase all of the 'deals' on the 6th day you will
get a SURPRISE!

Now, don't let all of this excitement make you forget about our
current challenge for December

OK, that is all for the Fresh Brewed Updates.

Wishing you all a wonderful and merry Christmas.
Stop by tomorrow for another fun card and another awesome digi deal!

Word Art Wednesday - 2 Week Challenge

Good almost afternoon.
I have spent the better part of my morning at the pediatrician with my daughter.
My son got sick last Wednesday and now my hubby and daughter are sick. My son
had an ear infection, so he was prescribed an antibiotic. We never fount out if it was
strep or not *there was a child at dance with strep the week before*
SO, when my daughter came to me with a sore throat Sunday but no fever, we chose to wait a few days. They say Strep doesn't show up right away with tests. She woke and said it was worse today.
We spent about an hour or so at the dr, but the test came back negative.
*happy about that*
So whatever they all have, it will have to run it's course. I just hope it is all over and done before Christmas. Fingers and toes crossed :)

I am here for no other reason but to share my
WORD ART WEDNESDAY card with you.
I LOVED making this card. I used my 'pretty' hoarded papers and
thought the whole time about the verse and what it meant to me, for my children, for my life.
God is so good!
I can't say that enough.

There are so many days that I sit and think
Life gets in the way and I find that I fall into a slump.
I spend time doing housework, homeschooling, cooking, running kids to their classes,
chatting with other moms at dance and then coming home, cleaning, getting everyone to bed,
sitting with my husband and then going to bed. I think about God and whisper prayers to him
and think how I need time with him, but I fail almost every day to set aside time to do just that.
One on one time. Reading my bible. Focusing only on Him.
I KNOW how important this is. I KNOW that my life will be a MESS until I get back to
his MESSAGE and follow his will for my life. He has started me on a path and
some days I feel like I am unworthy of that. Maybe that is a part of why I stop and
say, well lets make my list of failues for today and see what I come up with.
Ok, well.. that's a lot. God wouldn't want to use me. Nope. .. ok.... how could I ever do
the work he wants me to do when I lose my cool so easily. I say things I shouldn't say
when I am frustrated. I am quick to lose my temper. I am not following his will.
I am following mine. How could he EVER use me?
Then I heard a song on the radio to remind me.
One I have heard a GAZILLION times.

Gracious. Slow to Anger, Abounding in Love. Good to All.

I am not living a holy life or in his will when I am so quickly angered...

How wonderful to know that he loves us SOOOO MUCH that
through it all, he brings us back and reminds us we are HIS.
HE has a purpose for us and  he HAS BEGUN A GOOD WORK IN ME
that I will be able to carry out for his glory and honor and to worship and praise him
through it all. Will I fail? Yes. Will I fail less if I am in his word and seeking his face?

God is so good to us. He wants nothing but wonderful things for us.
We just need to FOCUS on him in EVERYTHING we do. Cleaning.
Praise God! Taking a shower. Pray. sing. Worship. Driving in the car?
turn on the radio and spend time listening to songs of praise and let your heart
be filled with his love.

So many times a day we can just spend focusing on him and praying and
praising him. We still need time to sit and really get into his word and learn more
about him and build our relationship with him ... but so many times
throughout the day can we still just be WITH him by just looking around
at all of the little smiles and hugs and blessings he is laying out for us.

Praise him through it all. Love him. He LOVES you!

some of this probably doesn't make any sense.
I am writing thoughts, not really paying attention to wording
or punctuation or anything like that.
Just my heart speaking and pretty much me talking to myself. :)

Thanks for visiting today.
I hope you have a very blessed day and a very Merry Christmas!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop + Blog Candy!!!

Forgive me, yesterdays post was thrown together. My son has the flu as I mentioned,
and I was running back and forth between writing the post and checking on him.
I didn't even come back to edit or fix anything. Please forgive me.

While he napped, I sat by him and put this little card together for the

I was invited by a few friends, but my first invite was from my dear friend
and former FBD DT Member, Vanessa @ Vanessa's Paper Creations.

Thank you Vanessa for the invite and Amy for hosting!
What fun!!!

Here is a bit of info about the hop:
Create a hot beverage theme card or project and link it up on Amy's blog:  HERE.
The linky will remain open through Friday, December 12th @ 11:55 pm pacific.

I decided to make what I felt was a true coffee lovers creation.
Who wouldn't love relaxing in a coffee shaped tub, sipping on fresh brewed coffee,
and having some aroma therapy coffee beans by their side! lol!!!

I found all of these fun embellishments and papers in a kit
by the Girls Paperie at Tuesday Morning.
They are probably old... and I have hoarded them a LONG time... but
thought I would use them in honor of this wonderful event :-)

Stickles, sequins, and a super sparkly ice blue button make this card shimmer and shine!
The paper embellis were such fun to layer. I had to add the clock in honor of my own
blog name: Heather's Coffee Break. And the lace adds the touch of softness.

I sure hope my son gets over this flu thing fast and that no one else catches it.
Go ahead and know this will be me next week.. minus the coffee shaped tub... lol!

Thank you for stopping by.

As promised yesterday,
(please write USA resident in with your comment in order to be considered to win)

And will be giving away a $15 Digital Gift Card
to Fresh Brewed Designs (no requirements)

Please check out yesterdays post and comment for an extra chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a regular ol blog post kind of day...

**forgive me for getting this post up so late. I spent the morning
with my little man at the pediatricians office. He has the flu :(

I have a few projects to share with you...
and I am putting them all into one post because I am taking care of a sick little fellow
as well as trying to keep my little miss happy... sooo here we go!

My first project is for the new challenge at

I always look forward to sharing these projects. It is so encouraging for me to
visit the blog, read the devotion, see my wonderful co-DT members projects
and to think about all of the wonderful things our Lord does for us every day.
We need Him - and we need each other. That is part of His plan for us.
To love one another, fellowship, be kind to and pray for one another...
I am so blessed to know that I have so many friends here who I can trust and count on
to be that for me and I thank God for you all every single day.

This weeks scripture is at WAW and is FREE!
Save this week's free scripture/word art file to your computer,
but are not required to use it in order to play along in our challenges.
  We welcome you share your art with us;
remembering that Anything Goes as long as it's family-friendly,
and uses an encouraging or uplifting sentiment.

The lighting for this card is terrible :( I will admit that right off.
It was taken when it was very overcast and drizzly all day.
So this is as good as it gets folks!

My daughter's ballet teacher LOVES coffee.
Possibly as much as I do *wink*
This image was drawn with her in mind. I created this card as part of
a set I am going to be giving her for Christmas.

If you are interested in this image, you can find it in my shop here:

Speaking of CHRISTMAS. This card is also for our month long challenge

Here is a close up of a little bit of the sparkle.
I do not have an icicle die, so I used my freshly cut grass diecut.
I layered the cut cardstock and vellum to give it a more icy feel ;)
The snowflake and fourish were cut using my Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge.
The background was embossed with a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.

I also designed a cute little coffee mug for her teacher:
Hope she likes it ;)

(please write USA resident in with your comment in order to be considered to win)
(photo to come later... remember, sick kid.. sortof threw me off my game this AM)

And will be giving away a $15 Digital Gift Card
to Fresh Brewed Designs (no requirements)

Stop by every day this week for more
COFFEE PROJECTS and more chances to win!

Thank you for stopping by!
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ...

Good Morning!
I am so happy about today's post.
I just LOVE Christmas time!!!
Everything about it.
I have said this already this month...
but that's ok. I am fine with saying it over and over again :)

My project for this weeks
holds one of my most favorite Christmas verses:

What a wonderful verse!
I love how the name JESUS stands out.
Just His name alone creates a feeling of peace, joy, love,
 and thankfulness in my heart.

It is so amazing to know that God loves us so much
that he sent His son to earth to save us from our sin. And that Jesus loved us so much
He came to earth to die on the cross in MY place.
I could not thank Him enough for all He has done in my life.
I am so unworthy.

This card was created using PTI Kraft Cardstock, scrap black paper, simplicity trim,
the paper studio dp, double sided tape covered in martha stewart glitter.

We want to see all of your CHRISTMAS PROJECTS!

Here is a card I created for my daughters dance studio owner / teacher.
The dance studio colors are teal, black and white.
I found this glittered doodlebug paper at our local hobby lobby and KNEW
it had to be used for these projects!

Fresh Brewed Designs Rubber Stamp:
Come and Knock on My Door

FBD Digital Sentiment: Merry Christmas - house

I kept the image pretty clean. I mostly traced the edges with a cool grey
marker. I then added silver and crystal  stickles to the flower pots.
The wreath and topiariy were painted with aleen's tacky glue then sprinkled
with a teal loose glitter by american craft. I also used aleens glue and tweezers
to add the little snowball looking ornaments.

Here is a close up of the sparkle. Don't you just LOVE it?!?

Thank you for stopping by today!
I do hope you have a very lovely and blessed day.

Christmas Ballerinas

This photo was taken while I was sitting and waiting for my children to
get out of class at their dance studio a few days ago.
The tree is simple and white with silver and teal decorations all over it.
That was the inspiration for the cards I created to share with you today.

These next cards were created using Fresh Brewed Designs
NEWEST digital stamps!
There were 7 stamps released today.

{Excuse the poor lighting on these cards. It has been raining here the past
few days and I could not get a great photo ... :-( }

I decided to draw a few dance images.
It is what I have been doing with most of my time after all. :-)
I was not ever a dancer.
I was a tom boy.
I climbed trees and played with bugs.
However, if I WERE a ballerina,
I would be one who danced and had my latte in hand the entire time :) tee hee hee.
This is also true for my daughters dance teacher, Marice.
She LOVES coffee.
We get along quite well ;-)

My first card features the new digi

I tried to get a photo to show off the sparkle, embossed vellum
and the little snowballs, but, again, poor lighting.
Hope you can see it a little bit ;-)

My children are also performing in this years Nutcracker ballet
at the new studio. I am so excited. My daughter has a few parts and my
son was asked to be in the party / battle scene with Fritz and the other party boys.
They get swords and don't really have to do ballet. Of course he was in!

I drew this image in honor of a beloved Christmas tradition for many-

This card has a lot of shine.
The background paper is shimmery and the paper behind the nutcracker image is a metalic
silver card stock.  I added crystal stickles to the white flourishes
and to the ballerinas dress. And silver stickles make the nutcracker shine.

*you will be happy to know that my artistic daughter looked at the first version of
this image and made a crinkly face. She said his face was too round and his
eyes looked mean. When I looked at it, it looked as if he were there to eat
the poor ballerina! HAHAHA!!!
So you get the good one. I will keep the bad one to go and look at from time
to time and laugh :-)

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with us today.
It is such a lovely day to be spending time with our friends and family and giving
thanks for all we have. I am so thankful for all the blessings God has given me.
I could not even begin to list them all.
Please know that I am so thankful for all of you who visit and who love
creating with us at Fresh Brewed Designs.
I am also thankful for my very best friends. The ladies on my design team.
I don't know what I would do without this wonderful support group of beautiful friends.
